Parish Council

Deacon Nathaniel Smith has been named as Chairman

of the Parish Council  and Sylvanus Egbunam has been named as co-Chairman. Please take a moment to congratulate them both.

 

Welcome

On Sunday, October 23, 2022 we will have our next fellowship

in the Parish Hall immediately after the 9:30am Mass.

At that time the Parish sill  be formally welcoming our new Pastor and Parochial Vicar.

 

Faith Formation

Classes have begun, if you have not done so, please register your child as soon as possible.

They are begin held in person in the Evangelization Center

(convent).

All children, grades K through 8 both new and

returning must register.

This year will be a hybrid year. The sessions will be:

in-person (Sundays-10:30am-12:00pm) with some

virtual sessions (Saturdays 10:30am-12:00pm)

 

Faith Formation Virtual Session scheduled for October 22, 2022 has been canceled because of the Pilgrimage to the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, DC.

Nest session is Sunday, October 23, 2022. Please bring your

child to the Parish Hall

Mass Attendance for Faith Formation Students:

We understand your health concerns during this difficult time, Mass attendance is a very important part of the Faith Formation program especially for those in the Sacramental programs.

Please make every effort to join us during our celebrations.

 

Food Pantry

In September the pantry served 121 families, which included

171 children, 271 adults and 84 seniors.

The pantry is in need of volunteers to help with

deliveries 1-2 Tuesday mornings a month. Anyone who would like to help with deliveries can call (718) 322-3077 and leave a

message. They should be able to lift 25-30 lbs.

 

The Annual Catholic Appeal 2022

The appeal for 2022 is ongoing. Our parish goal is 18,879.00.

As of October 10, we have pledges totaling $22,620.00 of that amount 18,730.00 has been collected. We thank everyone who have made pledges.   Remember, any amount received over our goal comes back to the parish. 

Special Second Collections

Bishop Brennan is asking that all parishes in the Diocese of

Brooklyn take up a special second collection for those affected by the recent hurricanes that caused major devastation in Puerto Rico, The Dominican Republic, Florida  and the Southeastern United States. We will be taking up that Special Collection on Sunday,

October 16, 2022.

 

There will be a second collection next Sunday, October 23rd for World Mission Sunday

 

Dear Parishioners, SDV 50/50 Raffle

The Society of the Divine Vocations is appealing to you to help us to help the young men knocking on the door for vocation.

You don’t want to miss out on the opportunity to win some great cash prizes ! All proceeds will go to support seminarians during

their formation program. Every little bit helps. So please consider

buying a ticket or two before you leave Mass, and you can help us to reach out to other people you know. Tickets are $5.00 each. They are available for purchase in the back of the church and from the Parish Office or Fr. Chris or Fr. Eric directly. We also, are in need of volunteers to help.

Diocese of Brooklyn Pilgrimage– SCHEDULE

For those who have registered and paid to go on the One-day

pilgrimage to the Basilica of the National Shrine of the

Immaculate Conception, Washington, DC, on Saturday,

October 22, 2022. We will be meeting in the Parish Hall at

6:30am. The bus will leave from the church promptly at

7:00 am and will be leaving the Basilica at 4:00pm for the

return  home.  If you have any questions please call the rectory during parish office hours.

 

Fall Workshop

The Advent morning reflection group will start on Wednesday

October 19, 2022 will run until November 16, 2022 from

10:00 am –11:30am on Zoom .  We will be finishing the book

The Diary of Jesus Christ by Bill Cain, S.J.

Paris, Lourdes and Fatima Pilgrimage-April 10-21,2023

Join us as we visit some of the Marian Apparition sites.

We will visit Lourdes, where our Lady appeared to

Bernadette, and visit the Grotto with the healing waters.

Fatima where she appeared to Lucia, Francisco and

Jacinta and She performed the Miracle of the Sun.

Along the way we will also visit Paris, Avila and Lisbon.
